Andrew Gn was born in Singapore but is now based in Paris and is very well know for his ‘one of a kind’ dresses but he does also have a viable fashion line. This article will cover the designers Fall collection which was released back in March.
The Fall collection embraced the typical fall colours off black, brown and combines them with deep reds and greens that give off a rich earthy feel. Trims and intricate details were a big part of the collection and added to the expensive feel of the show. There were plenty of coats too choose from and a favourite of the designers for this winter would have to be the knee length coat with a big fur trim, he used this look frequently and just changed the colours and texture of the coats to add variety. Fur also made it on to the sleeves of a few other items.
Leather seemed to be the trim of choice and it did compliment the designs quite nicely, going particularly well with the flecked gray fabric that was featured though out the collection. It was a very cohesive collection with each piece complimenting the next nicely and in general the entire show flowed perfectly from piece to piece. The suits were all tailored exquisitely but that is to be expected by a designer at this level, where Gn excelled himself was in the trims and small details.
The evening dresses were a highlight of the show; the colour scheme was carried over from the day collection. The lines for the dresses were not that new or unique but again the collection was able to differentiate itself from others because of the attention to detail that was present in the trims. The black leather trims from the everyday collection transferred surprisingly well to the evening wear.
