Here’s a quick round up of our favourite Korean fashion brands at the moment.
Let’s kick of with the gorgeous collection Duchess by Lee Yoon Jung. Jung is a really talented designer who learnt her craft at the l’Ecole Supérieure des Arts et Techniques de la Mode (ESMOD). Her latest collection has become an instant hit and it’s easy to see why.
Her clothes are all really wearable, so we don’t just have to look at them which we do with some clothes we see on the catwalk, these can actually be worn. Jung’s skill is that she makes clothes that can transform any woman into the epitome of elegance and sophistication. The collection is made up of separates that can be mixed and matched together which is perfect for the busy modern woman. Gone are the days of stressing out about what to wear every morning, with this collection you’ll always look fabulous, smart and ready to face the day.
Next up is the perfect accessory brand in our eyes, Liucia by Alycia Tang. She makes the handbags of every girl’s dreams. Alycia is a true expert in her art, her mum is also a handbag designer. She was helping her Mum out from the age of ten and has always had a huge handbag collection. This collection came about when she and best Japanese friend N. Takeda re-launched her family’s company, calling it Liucia.
They also use really fine leather, normally from Spain and France, so the bags always feel gorgeous as well as looking it. The bags have really cute interiors, she often uses vintage kimono and obi fabrics to line them. It’s the unusual touches like this that make her collection really stand out from the crowd. She’s even launched a range with a changeable lining, because we all know how annoying it is when a pen leaks in our bag or we spill something in it.
Liucia’s simple philosophy “Girls, who know what girls want, design for girls, “ couldn’t be more true. She certainly knows what we want as we love all her bags!
Finally we turn to the brand Atelier de Sappho by award winning designer Hang Jung Ah. Her inspiration came from Greek poetess Sappho. You can see the Greek influence in the designs, they feature asymmetric cuts and soft finishes. The collection is beautifully finished right down to last detail and you can see how well crafted it is.
The Atelier de Sappho collection is ful, of really feminine clothes that make you feel womanly and divine, just like Sappho herself. Even though there is a strong Greek influence in the collection, there is nothing old fashioned about it, in fact it is a truly modern, fashion forward collection.
