Sex and the City 2 Still
Hong Kong just had the “Sex in the City 2″ premiere welcoming Carrie and her girls back to the big screen with an over the top production featuring outrageous fashion, ex-lovers, two amazing locations, and cocktails! With the release of the film finally approaching today to Asia, there is only one thing to do. Well maybe two things. Go see the movie of course, and wear something fantastic inspired by the movie’s Middle Eastern location of Abu Dhabi. And even if you are from some other part of the world and saw the movie already, or maybe you somehow are not a fan of the Fabulous Forsome…either way, desert safari style is sooooo hot right now, literally. You may not want to go all the way like Carrie did in a full on Aladdin ensemble complete with a turban, but I think we can meet her halfway, don’t you?
Let’s start with the perfect white dress. Here’s for a little science lesson, white reflects light by bouncing it off itself…where as black absorbs it, making you hotter, and not in a good way if you are out in the sand dunes! The sundress that I have selected by BBon-J is a sneaky little thing because it is convertible. It can go from a crazy cute mid-calf skimming dress that looks great strapless or in a halter…to a flowing full length tiered skirt. I absolutely love the frayed ends of this dress. Accessories are key to bringing the bling. Not only is a lot of Middle Eastern style very ornate, but everything about the fashion in Sex and the City definitely sparkles! So pile on the bracelets like this Tian Mu cuff bangle, slip on these beaded Holly Sandals, layer up those necklaces, pull out your straw hat, and hit up your local street market for beaded belts and satchels.
Keep your hair loose and windblown or try a knotty messy side braid. Pink sun kissed cheeks and shimmery gold eyeshadow would be perfect with this look. My favorites are Nars Orgasm Blush and South Beach Bronzer Duo (gold flecked perfect pink blush and the best natural bronzer) and Woodwinked (a gorgeous velvety shimmery bronze gold) M.A.C. eye shadow.
