Asian-American Designers Spotlight: Thakoon Spring 2011 Collection NYFW

Asian-American Designers Spotlight: Thakoon Spring 2011 Collection NYFW

White is the new nude for the Spring Collection 2011.  Thakoon Panichgul showed his latest spring collection with an array of white and pale shade ensembles.  His designs were demure yet sultry in a sense.   His dresses revealed some flesh sexing up his collection.  He had twill jackets with detachable hem, paper bag shorts and pantsuits in chiffon.

His ensembles were made of sheer wallpaper organza and denim as well.  Thakoon added twists to his spring collection with his python sequin T-shirt Dress in a loose drape. The collection was an evidence, of how he really pushed himself for this season.  He made risks by venturing out of his comfort zone.

The trend for the spring 2011 collection continued as Thakoon’s models sashayed down the catwalk clad mostly in a white outfit.  He opened with an asymmetrical jacket with details such as straps and texturing.  However, his collection wasn’t all about white, since he used pretty colors of periwinkle and purple.  Sheer materials with floral prints enticed everyone in the audience.

The models look refreshingly beautiful with their dewy makeup and ethereal looking gowns.  The catwalk was filled with feminine touch and romantic aura with this stunning collection for spring.
